What should happen, is that the pivot tables continue to reference the data sheet. Paste the file to another folder (archiving it) I have been using this file for years, and every month I roll it forward, using the exact same procedures as I have for years: There are no links to external data anywhere within the workbook. I have a spreadsheet with various pivot tables, all of which reference the same data tab within the workbook.
